True Self Care
In this post I wanted to talk about self care. It’s a term that gets used loads these days, and brings to mind things like bubble baths, face masks, spa days, meditations and lots of other lovely pamper type activities.
I love all of these things as much as the next person but for me self care is about way more than a Sunday night pamper sesh.
It’s about prioritising things that are important to you, make you feel good and benefit your physical and mental health and fitness.
For example, for me my workouts are part of self care or even having time to go for a walk with my dogs and listening to a podcast.
Self care is more about small things done consistently with a level of routine than big ‘self care’ occasions like a spa day.
Building a routine of self care with daily non negotiable things like drinking 2 litres of water, walking for 30 minutes, reading a chapter of your book and doing a workout, will help reduce stress, and burn-out and will boost overall well being, health, fitness, confidence and feeling of being in control.
Why not spend some time today writing a little list of things you’d like to include in your self care routine. I’d really like to hear what you include too!
