OK that might sound a little accusational, let me explain.

In all the years I have been working in health and fitness and all the hundreds of women I’ve worked with there’s one common theme I’ve witnessed that is holding us all back from achieving what we want.

C O N S I S T E N C Y.

I bet when it comes to food you’re a little bit like this.

‘When I’m good I’m great but when I’m bad I’m….awful’

Sound familiar?

We are sooooooo consumed by trying to be perfect, eating clean, eating the right amount of calories, eating the right balance of macros, getting in our antioxidants, cutting out all the rubbish, no alcohol, no chocolate, no bread.

Constantly searching for the next superfood, reading articles and watching documentaries about the food that is ‘killing us’ or ‘keeping us fat’. Asking about which protocols are best? Carb cycling? High fat? Ketogenic?

STOP

It’s not the food.

It’s you.

It’s the fact that you have a few good days followed by a few baaaad days.

It’s the fact you’re not organised and you didn’t plan in advance what you were going to eat.

It’s the fact that you can’t always manage your stress or emotions appropriately and so you use food as a comfort for that.

It’s the fact you don’t feel assertive enough to tell your friends you don’t want to drink tonight because you are working towards a goal that means something to you.

I could go on but essentially most of the reasons you are not achieving your fat loss goals aren’t about the foods you’re eating themselves. It’s about the reasons you’re eating them in the first place!

Get to the root cause. Treat the problem not the symptoms!!

Nutrition for fat loss is actually really simple and chances are you already know most of what you need to to get great results.

More water, More Veg, Lean meats and fish, healthy fats like nuts, avocados and coconut oil, carbs such as fruit, oats, rice, potatoes.

What’s more likely to be holding you back is the fact you’re not eating those foods and only those types of food day in, day out.

Yes of course there’s room in our life for a little wine, chocolate or whatever your vice is but be honest with yourself about how much this stuff is creeping in.

Work out what it is that’s holding you back from making good choices all day every day?

Is it a lack of organisation?

Is it because you use food as a comfort?

Is it because your family or friends don’t eat the same things?

GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PROBLEM.

This is the first step to getting the results you want.
