NATIONAL WALKING DAY

The first Wednesday in April is National Walking Day. People forget that taking a walk is a really good way to stay active and healthy. It’s not the easier option!

You don’t need to sweat the hard stuff EVERY SINGLE DAY with squats, spin class and the crazy home video workout… a good walk can bat away the cobwebs, maintain your active mindset, keep your muscles going and not to mention, destress your day!

It’s also a fantastic way of beginning your fitness journey. Flat surface walking or hilly walks, you are in charge of how hard or easy you take it.

So today, wear your sneakers (or take them with you) to work and at some point in the day, take a 30-minute walk.

Some great ways to make that 30-minutes more enjoyable:

  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Take a friend to pass the time.
  • Make sure to stretch those muscles.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Move your arms, too.
  • Make sure you have good posture.

Take thirty minutes out of your day to go for a walk and use #NationalWalkingDay to post on social media.

It’s also a mint excuse to get yourself some new trainers!

Get active.
