Paul Mumford – The Accumulator Book Review

I love a good health and fitness book as much as the next person. There’s nothing quite as motivating as reading great advice, seeing the amazing results other have achieved and drooling over a stack of healthy food ideas.

The problem is, so many of these books tell you to basically over haul your whole life from Day 1…no baby steps…just SPLASH, in at the deep end.

The instant lifestyle-overhaul approach rarely works. There are only a very small number of people who can do this AND sustain it. The truth is, we need our hand held along the way. We need to make lots of smaller positive changes in order to reach the big goal, and most importantly without falling off the health and fitness wagon.

While I enjoy reading diet and exercise based books, I rarely recommend them to my clients, because many are just too unrealistic and forget that Mrs.Normal, has a life to live too, and she can’t make getting in shape her full time job.

However, I have just finished reading The Accumulator by Paul Mumford. It’s billed as ‘The Revolutionary 30 Day Fitness Plan’ and it’s ace! In the book, Paul has taken fantastic fitness advice and made it super simple to follow. You start off with just one exercise to focus on and get right, then each day you introduce another and another, gradually increasing volume of work each day.

And it’s not just the exercise that Paul has tackled in a reader-friendly, down to earth way, he’s also cracked it with nutrition too, giving you one thing to focus on each day, making it a very manageable way to create major lifestyle improvements.

Visually, it’s brilliant and makes the information very easy to follow and digest, using clear exercise demonstrations and check lists.

Often, these types of book are aimed at the beginner, but this book really can be used by everyone, from the new exerciser to the gym bunny wanting to get the diet up to scratch and try out a new training programme alongside it. As the workouts are based on timed intervals, it really can be used to challenge all levels of fitness.

I’d highly recommend this book!

If you want to check it out, here is a link to it on Amazon.

If you’ve got any inspirational reads you think I should try, I’d love to know which one!
